• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen select the button associated with the type of game you would like to play.
    • Mahjong Solitaire: match two open tiles to remove them from the playing field.
    • Mahjong Connect: select two tiles which are adjacent or can be connected by a line which turns no more than twice at 90 degrees & does not through any other tile
    • Triple Mahjong: match three open tiles to remove them from the playing field.
  • The welcome screen also has buttons for more games & a help button which explains how each game type works.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select open tiles & then select matching tiles.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with your finger to select open tiles.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The right rail of the game shows the date you are playing at the top of the screen and the type of puzzle at the bottom.
    • Your remaining level time and score are shown, with 5 control buttons underneath them: hints, full screen mode, pause game, sound control & music control.
• Game Play
  • General Advice
    • Tiles are considered open if no tile is on top of them and at least one of the left or right sides are open.
    • Open tiles have a lighter color and their border turns orange when they are selected.
    • Closed tiles have a darker color.
    • While most tiles must exactly match to count as a match there are 2 exceptions
      • any flower tile can be combined with any other flower tile
      • any season tile can be combined with any other season tile
  • Mahjong Solitaire
    • Match open tiles in pairs.
    • In general it is best to start with the tiles that have the deepest set under them to expose the board & to do wider rows rather than narrow rows whenever possible to keep many play options open until few tiles remain.
    • Scoring
      • Each match you make is worth 50 points.
      • Each second you have remaining is worth 3 points.
      • Using the hints button does not cost you points.
      • When no matches remain the board automatically reshuffles. If the board has not reshuffled it means there is still a match available.
  • Mahjong Connect
    • Rather than selecting open tiles like Mahjong Solitaire you select tiles which match any of the following conditions:
      • are directly adjacent to one another (vertically or horizontally)
      • can be connected by a straight line that does not through another tile
      • can be connected by a line which turns 90 degrees once or twice
    • Tiles which are partially blocked may not be connected until the partially obstructing tiles are removed.
    • Scoring
      • Each match you make is worth 100 points.
      • Each second you have remaining when you complete a level is worth 3 points.
  • Triple Mahjong
    • Triple Mahjong is just like Mahjong Solitaire except you match 3 tiles at a time rather than 2.
    • Scoring
      • Each set you make is worth 50 points.
      • Using the hints button does not cost you points.
      • Each second you have remaining when you complete a level is worth 3 points.
