Aim your gun at the waves of oncoming enemies and shoot them before they reach you and attack you. Periodically pause your shot intermittently to prevent your gun from overheating. Use the money earned from defeating enemies to upgrade your weaponry and defense. This game is quite simple and easy. Shoot enemies before they reach your base.
- Starting the Game
- Click on the green Play Game button. This will bring up the level select game.
- Each of the 10 levels needs to be beat sequentially to unlock the subsequent level.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
- Game Controls
- Use your mouse to aim where you want to shoot and click your mouse to shoot.
- Periodically release your shot to prevent your gun from overheating.
- Scoring & Upgrades
- As you kill enemies some of them periodically give you coins which can be used in the shop accessible from the level select screen.
- There are 5 upgrade tiers available for each of the following attributes
- Damage – How strong your shot is
- Armor – how many hits your base can withstand
- Overheating – how quickly your gun overheats
- Strategy
- This game is set on a flat 2-dimensional plane. The first couple levels are quite easy as all early enemies walk.
- By the time you get to the third or fourth level your gun will start regularly overheating unless you purchase upgrades.
- Upgrade purchase order
- Your attack damage is the most important attribute to upgrade. Next is overheating. Then armor.
- Each subsequent round of upgrades costs more than the prior, so for the first couple sets of upgrades you might go back and forth between damage and armor, then max out on damage.
- Armor is a fairly pointless upgrade as you need to be able to kill fast moving enemies before they can cross the screen.
- Along the top of the screen your level stats show
- Far left: defense strength & gun temperature
- Next: coins
- In the center: level progress
- The hardest level in the game is level 8.
- There is a white reconnaissance drone which appears repeatedly throughout the level.
- When the drone enters the level it is walking on the ground.
- It continues to walk until it is shot and then it quickly flies left.
- If any one of these drones escapes the level then you can not beat the level.
- Worse yet, the game will still let you play the rest of the level then the level will not complete, so you have to click the refresh button on your browser to restart the level.
- This which done is why it is important you upgrade shot strength as the drone takes a number of shots to kill even with a fully upgraded gun.

In Base Defense, you take control of one turret against a wave of marauding robots. Each time you shoot down an enemy, you earn cash. With each successive level, you can upgrade your weapons and defenses to survive further mechanized onslaughts. The game is much easier than other tower defense games and isn’t too difficult to get a handle of.
You can breeze through the levels with relative ease, and level grinding isn’t too daunting. That said, it isn’t without its own difficulties. Early in the game, you contend with the possibility of your weapon overheating. In the later levels, you face tougher waves of enemies, some of which are airborne. Paying for upgrades is critical to surviving later levels. While not a challenging game, it is an easy introduction to the tower defense genre.
